Boiled Peanut Recipe
Fill a large pot about 1/2 full with water.
Add green peanuts to the pot.
For a full bag of peanuts (30 pounds), add 1 full box of table salt (1 pound).
For a 1/2 bag of peanuts (15 pounds), add 1/2 box of table salt (1/2 pound).
For 1/4 bag of peanuts (7.5 pounds), add 1/4 box of table salt (1/4 pound).
Bring to a boil.
Continue boiling for about 2 hours (or longer). Make sure not to boil all of the water out.
When the peanuts are tender, fill the pot with cold water.
Let the peanuts sit in the cold water for at least 30 minutes. During this time, the peanuts should sink to the bottom.
Drain the water.
Eat immediately or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 5 days.
